TAMPA — Whether a good culture in the dressing room begets winning or winning makes the dressing room a good place to be, one thing is abundantly clear for these Washington Capitals: They are winning a lot of games, and they all really like each other.

After beating the Florida Panthers on Monday and outlasting the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday to sweep their Florida road trip, the Capitals are tied for third in the NHL with 15 wins. They are tied for fifth in the league with 31 points, rank fourth in points percentage at .705 and are two points back of the Carolina Hurricanes for the lead in the Metropolitan Division. With the win over the Lightning, they improved to 2-2 in four games without captain Alex Ovechkin, who is out for several more weeks with a broken bone in his left leg.
